FAQs

We’re open Tuesday – Sunday and every day during the school holidays.

For large and corporate bookings we are also open Monday. You can check availability and book tickets on our website and for any customer service enquiries please email info@thegameisnow.com. Our sales and customer service desk is staffed between 10am and 6pm Monday to Saturday.

Sherlock: The Official Live Game and The Mind of Moriarty are part immersive experience, part escape room.

The experiences last approximately 100 minutes, with 60 minutes spent in the escape room itself. We can book teams of 2 or more people across rooms to play simultaneously.

Anybody can play – families, friends and fans alike. The game has been designed for anyone aged 10+, but 7+ children are welcome at their parent/guardian’s discretion.  Young people under the age of 15 will need to be accompanied by an adult.

Unfortunately, we can’t allow babies in prams for health and safety reasons, but do allow babes in arms to be carried in slings.

And don’t worry if you haven’t watched the original Sherlock TV series – you can still come and have an amazing time.

Looking to make a booking for 18 or more people? Please see our large groups page and send an email to info@thegameisnow.com for more information on our bespoke group packages.

Sherlock: The Official Live Game and The Mind of Moriarty are immersive experiences for 2-6 players, and are best suited to be played by 4+ people.

Groups of 2-3 players will be put with other groups to make up a group of 6 for the Shared Escape Room. Unfortunately, the game cannot be played by only one person.

As long as we have availability, you can add extra players to your team by emailing info@thegameisnow.com with your booking details and what type of ticket you want to add (e.g. Adult, Child or Concession). Our Customer Service Team will send you a payment link to book in your extra player.

Concessionary rates are applicable for:

Unfortunately we do not accept cash within our venue and can only accept card payments.

Groups of 2-3 players will be put with other groups to make up a group of 6 for the Shared Escape Room.

Unfortunately, the game cannot be played by only one person.

The complexity of the games are best suited to children over the age of 10 with adult supervision and 15+ without supervision.

Children 7+ can be admitted at a parent/guardian’s discretion.

Note: Players will view a covered model of a body and there are dark corridors and loud noises.

To play without an adult, children between the age of 15 and 17 will need an adult to on their behalf before the game.

If you’ve purchased a voucher for the game from another website such as BuyaGift, Red Letter Days, Virgin Experiences etc. You can redeem your voucher and make a booking by sending an email to info@thegameisnow.com with your voucher code, full name, contact details and the date and time you would like to book and we’ll take care of the rest for you!

We aim to provide an experience that is accessible and enjoyable for people of all abilities, however, due to the nature of the experience please call or email before you book to ensure that we can accommodate your specific requirements.

Wheelchair Access

The entire venue is step-free and most wheelchairs are suitable to play the game. We do have a wheelchair that is designed to go through the experience more easily.

The game lasts approximately 100 minutes, so although there are not great distances to walk, guests who are able to walk for short distances may feel more comfortable using a wheelchair.

If you require the use of our wheelchair or have any further questions or requirements, please email info@thegameisnow.com and the team will ensure your needs for the day are met.

Relaxed Game

A relaxed game is open specifically to those with an Autistic Spectrum Condition, sensory and communication disorder or learning disability. There is no strobe lighting or strong smells, but we advise there are loud noises, (ear defenders are available on request), and dark corridors.

We can arrange a walkthrough of the rooms prior to the visit if required. Simply email info@thegameisnow.com with your booking reference to arrange a walkthrough and or request the use of ear defenders.

The safety and security of our customers and staff is absolutely paramount and so we have done everything possible to ensure our venue meets all possible health and safety guidelines.

General venue – the venue is fitted according to all the latest building and fire safety regulations, using safe materials, and equipped with fire monitoring, alarm and emergency lighting system, and sprinkler system. All electrical equipment is tested and safe to use.

Fire monitoring and alarm system – the venue is fitted with heat and smoke detectors, alarm sounders and sprinklers in all areas, including all game rooms (and emergency call points spread across the venue according to regulations). The system is maintained regularly and tested weekly.

Emergency routes – all fire doors and routes, as well as portable fire extinguishers, are clearly signposted. In case of power failure, emergency lighting system will keep ambient lighting on across the venue, including all game rooms.

Staff training – our venue team is briefed on emergency procedures, and will assist customers in case of evacuation or other emergency.

Doors will automatically shut behind you but if you need to exit for any reason, we will of course let you out. Our game rooms are equipped with automatic doors that lock while in game state, but automatically open in case of an emergency and can be easily pushed open in case of major power failure.

Sherlock: The Official Live Game and The Mind of Moriarty require a basic level of English comprehension, you do not need to be fluent, but you must be able to read and speak English to a good standard.

If you have any questions then email info@thegameisnow.com.

Firstly, congratulations! Naturally, you play at your own risk, but there is nothing in the experience that should cause concern. Please keep in mind there are a number of instances where you will not have anywhere to sit down as well as some periods with low lighting, so please do tread carefully.

Any further questions or concerns please get in touch with us directly on info@thegameisnow.com.

Due to the nature of Sherlock: The Official Live Game and The Mind of Moriarty‘s design and staffing, we are not able to facilitate intoxicated visitors. If you are visibly inebriated, you will be refused entry or your experience curtailed.

In a similar fashion, if you are disruptive, unruly or present a threat to our environments or staff we will be forced to terminate your adventure.

Our experiences are ticketed live events. Once a booking is confirmed, refunds, cancellations, and rescheduling are not possible. In addition, latecomers will not get a refund or reschedule; much like a theatre show, the show continues with or without you. View a full list of ticketing terms and conditions.
